Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the pumpkin, eggs, and vanilla until well blended.
  4. In another bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the pumpkin mixture until just blended.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop dough by tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the edges are lightly browned.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
