Spinach and Ricotta Stuffed Shells Recipe

A deliciously easy recipe for spinach and ricotta stuffed shells that brings comfort to your dinner table.

  • 12 large jumbo pasta shells
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the spinach, ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stuff each pasta shell with the cheese mixture.
  5. Spread half of the marinara sauce at the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Place the stuffed shells in the dish and top with the remaining marinara sauce.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  8. Remove foil and sprinkle with additional mozzarella cheese, then bake for another 10 minutes until cheese is melted.

Notes

  • For a healthier version, you can add cooked ground turkey or chicken to the cheese mixture.
  • These shells can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
