Cinnamon Swirl Banana Bread

This moist and flavorful cinnamon swirl banana bread is the perfect treat for breakfast or dessert.

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the bananas with a fork.
  3. Add melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla to the mashed bananas and mix well.
  4. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix in.
  5. Add the flour and stir until just combined.
  6. In a separate bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon for the swirl topping.
  7. Layer half of the banana batter in a greased loaf pan, sprinkle with half of the cinnamon sugar mix, and repeat the layers.
  8. Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For extra moisture, add a tablespoon of sour cream.
  • Bananas should be very ripe for the best flavor.
